Commercial training - standard

The following pre-designed workshop sessions are readily available for you to book. These sessions are ideal for group training and are delivered at a location arranged by you.

These workshops are held for small groups of delegates. We recommend a maximum of 12 to ensure that delegates gain as much from the sessions as possible.

Understanding Primary Care Data

This half day workshop session is designed to give newcomers to primary care and primary care data an insight into the distinctiveness, value and uses of GP patient electronic health records. Learn about the many information needs and data flows within primary care including how data in general practice are captured, recorded and managed. As part of this session delegates will also explore clinical commissioning information requirements and identify how accurate primary care data can support these needs.

Quality Data, Quality Outcomes

This half day workshop session has specifically been designed for GP practice staff. As an outcome of this training, delegates will know the attributes of data quality and how they relate to quality records management in general practice and be able to support the promotion and improvement of quality patient records in their practice.

A selection of data quality challenges will be explored as part of this session presenting delegates with realistic data quality challenges.

Quality Coding: Read Version 2

This half day workshop session will enable delegates to understand the structure of Read Version 2 clinical terminology and learn how to use different search techniques to find appropriate clinical terms quickly and easily. Learn about hierarchy impurities, false synonyms and abbreviations.

A selection of coding challenges will be explored as part of this session presenting delegates with realistic coding scenarios.

Quality Coding: Clinical Terms Version 3

This half day workshop session will enable delegates to understand the structure of Clinical Terms Version 3 (CTV3) terminology and learn how to use different search techniques to find appropriate clinical terms quickly and easily. Learn about qualifiers, optional codes and abbreviations.

A selection of coding challenges will be explored as part of this session presenting delegates with realistic coding scenarios.

An Introduction to MIQUEST Query Writing

This full day training session will allow delegates to gain a more in-depth understanding of the data extraction tool MIQUEST and will equip delegates with the knowledge and skills they need to write basic MIQUEST query sets using the HQL Editor software. This session explores the three different types of MIQUEST query, the associated outputs and when each one is best used. Learn how to structure questions about the data held on GP clinical information systems and translate them into functional queries.

This is a hands-on session that involves use of the HQL editor software. For more information about this software, please visit NHS Connecting for Health.

This training is a basic introduction to MIQUEST query writing. Delegates will be writing MIQUEST queries specifically designed for this training event. If as part of your training, you would like to write MIQUEST queries for a particular clinical topic and area, we would be happy to price this training for you as part of our bespoke training services.

Data Quality Assessor Training

This full day workshop session aims to equip delegates with the relevant skills and knowledge needed to support and assess the level of data quality within a practice. Learn how to examine the efficiency of GP practice data flows and standards of information management and data recording.

The standards within this session are based on the IM&T Directed Enhanced Service for data accreditation for GP practices.

This training is delivered by a PRIMIS+ Learning Consultant and not a clinician.

PRIMIS+ in Practice

PCOs have already had the opportunity to experience one PRIMIS+ in Practice training day for free but can now purchase additional training days.

This training day is delivered over a full day and has been designed for general practice staff to explore the principles and practice of data quality and information management. PCTs can select two subjects from a menu of half day workshops. Visit PRIMIS+ in Practice for more details.

Each workshop provides a comprehensive overview of the subject matter and explores some of the relevant associated issues. The training day will start with a brief overview of the PRIMIS+ service and details of the local service available.

Price

Half-day workshop sessions are carried out over a three hour period, typically 10am-1pm or 1pm-4pm, depending on your requirements. The price is £550* (equivalent to £46 per delegate, based on a group size of 12).

Full day workshop sessions are carried out over a six hour period, typically 10am to 4pm, including a short lunch break. The price is £800* (equivalent to £67 per delegate, based on a group size of 12). PRIMIS+ training is VAT exempt.

* This price does not include travel and accommodation costs. All travel and accommodation costs incurred during the delivery of training will be passed onto the customer. PRIMIS+ will endeavour to keep these costs to a minimum and will consult with you before final arrangements are made.
