PRIMIS+ in Practice

PRIMIS+ in Practice is an exclusive, free one-day training session available to every PCT. The training has been designed especially to introduce GP practice staff to the principles and practice of data quality and information management. Places will of necessity be limited but we suggest that PRIMIS+ Information Facilitators are well placed to identify and invite staff who will benefit most from the training.

This unique training opportunity is designed to reinforce the role of the PRIMIS+ facilitator. The day’s training will start with a brief overview of the PRIMIS+ service and details of the local support available. PRIMIS+ Information Facilitators can take advantage of the opportunity to establish themselves as the PRIMIS+ 'expert' in their PCT and become well placed to offer follow-up advice and support to those practices that need it.

PCTs can select two of the following subjects to be delivered on the day:

• Quality Coding (Read Version 2)

• Quality Coding (Clinical Terms Version 3)

• Quality Data, Quality Outcomes

• Information Governance and the Patient Health Record

• Clinical Audit Made Easy Using PRIMIS+ Tools

The day is organised and coordinated by the PCT. The training is delivered by a PRIMIS+ Learning Consultant.

We are grateful to our sponsors, The NHS Information Centre for health and social care, for the opportunity to offer this training. It is the first time in the history of PRIMIS+ that the service has been able to provide free bespoke training direct to practice staff.
