Learning Networks
PRIMIS+ is supporting the work of trained Information Facilitators through 'learning networks', with around 18 currently running across the country. Meeting every two or three months, these networks address a wide range of issues affecting data quality in primary care, and give attendees the opportunity to share ideas, experience and resources. Some more general topics include:
-
Chronic disease register validation
-
Clinical system template design and use
-
The Quality and Outcomes Framework
-
GP2GP - the data quality and patient safety issues around the transfer of a patient’s record between general practices
-
Shared care records
-
Information Governance
-
Data Quality Standards
-
Clinical system-specific issues
-
Information Management & Technology Directed Enhanced Service (IM&T DES) – accreditation and re-accreditation
Many of these networks are now running independently, although PRIMIS+ support can include Learning Consultant attendance at network meetings if requested, to address specific issues, and we are also now developing on-line support in the form of discussion boards.
