PRIMIS+ training curriculum for Information Facilitators
The PRIMIS+ training curriculum provides learners with the skills and knowledge to use and produce quality healthcare data. The training is delivered by a blend of learning opportunities. Online elements can be accessed via the PRIMIS+ Learning Centre with workshop sessions delivered by the PRIMIS+ Learning Consultants.
The training programme is split into units, each made up of elements. Some elements can be completed online and contain visual information, activities and links to relevant resources. Others will be completed in a more traditional workshop session to encourage discussion and networking.
The online elements have been designed to allow the learner to work at their own pace at a time that best suits them.
The benefits are:
-
Learning is delivered in a variety of ways using a modern, flexible approach
-
Online materials are developed with well-established tools
-
Learners can track their progress through the curriculum
-
Support is available from PRIMIS+ Learning Consultants
The curriculum has been specifically designed to support the PRIMIS+ Information Facilitator. However, anyone employed by a primary care trust, health informatics service or clinical commissioning group can benefit from the training (excluding employees on the provider side).
Learners are able to gain recognition for the training they receive from PRIMIS+ by undertaking some of the core elements of the training curriculum as an award. The PRIMIS+ Award in Data Quality and Information Management in General Practice provides an opportunity for learners come away with a certificate of completion from a national awarding body.
