What is the IM&T DES e-Audit Toolkit?
The PRIMIS IM&T DES e-audit toolkit is designed to help practices to achieve accredited data quality standards so that their information is fit for sharing in the NHS Care Records Service. This is a key objective of the IM&T DES.
How does the IM&T DES e-Audit Toolkit work?
The e-audit queries for the preparation process are designed for use with CHART. The e-audit toolkit uses the latest version of CHART and CHART Online.
CHART is a software tool that helps practices improve patient care by analysing the data held on their clinical computer systems. CHART provides user-friendly tools for displaying patient data in a variety of graphs and tables. Using the IM&T DES e-audit queries, CHART extracts the data using the MIQUEST interpreter found on all clinical systems, then displays the data in a variety of ways to suit the user's preferences.
CHART Online allows GP practices to see how they are doing against a wider comparative group. There are a series of interactive graphs that provide various views of practice data collected from the e-audit queries.
Anyone registered at Level 2 can access CHART Online and view the data that has been uploaded. For more information about access levels contact:

The e-audit toolkit is free for NHS users only. The e-audit toolkit requires Microsoft Windows 2000 or higher and Microsoft Office 2000 or higher, which are available free under the NHS Agreement. You must have Microsoft Excel 2000 or higher installed on the machine that will be used. Currently CHART does NOT work with MS Excel 2007.
To download the e-audit toolkit and CHART Online, you will need to register with the PRIMIS Profile Centre. You can find the login in the right-hand column. Once you have logged in, you will be able to download the e-audit toolkit onto your system.
