Data accreditation

The Information Management and Technology Directed Enhanced Service (IM&T DES) ran from 1 April 2006 to 31 March 2009. The IM&T DES web pages produced during that time will be no longer be updated.

However we appreciate some of these tools and resources could still prove useful to Primary Care Organisations (PCOs) who are offering Local Enhanced Services (LESs) along similar lines to the original IM&T DES. Therefore we have archived a large amount of the IM&T DES information and resources to ensure it is all available to those who wish to access it.

In particular we are aware that the need for practice data accreditation will continue in some form beyond the end of the IM&T DES. NHS Connecting for Health has stated that only those practices who have achieved data accreditation will be able to upload their patient records to the Summary Care Record (SCR) part of the NHS Care Records Service (NHS CRS) as and when available in their locality.

Therefore, in the absence of any further policy statement on data accreditation, PRIMIS+ will continue to help and support PCOs in their endeavours to accredit practice data as much as our current contract allows.
