Congratulations to the first 26 learners to achieve the PRIMIS Award in Data Quality and Information Management in General Practice
The award is designed for PCT staff who would like to learn the core principles and skills of general practice health information management, improve their understanding of the tools and techniques that can be used to promote a culture of information quality in general practice and come away with a certificate of achievement from a national awarding body. The award is recognised by NCFE under their Investing in Quality (IIQ) licence. So far, 143 participants are registered to undertake the award during 2011. We initially offered monthly cohorts running the award until September. We are now pleased to offer another cohort running from September to December. If you are employed by a PCT and would like to undertake the award, please take advantage of the additional cohort. The assessments are of a very high standard so the 26 learners who have achieved the award so far can be justly proud of themselves. One learner told us:
'At last!... some concrete facilitation training with an award... training that sharpens many things we already know using variety ways of learning... and encourages us to research and understand points better...'
Another said:
'Anyone working in General Practice should have the knowledge and understanding of this element to assist with the management of health records and understand the importance of data quality for a cradle to grave record, fit for sharing.'
