Data fit for commissioning speakers

Jeanette Davies is Head of Information for the Contract & Information Shared Services Unit (CISSU). Jeanette has worked for the NHS for 29 years in a variety of departments and roles. She has worked within Information for the last 19 years in a Shared Services Commissioning Environment. Jeanette is responsible for developing, managing and maintaining the information and knowledge management systems and infrastructure to support contract monitoring with secondary care providers on behalf of the eight PCTs in Cheshire and Merseyside. She works closely with all stakeholders to ensure their needs and expectations are fully met by establishing consistent information standards and procedures and associated use of appropriate national data sets.

Professor Mike Pringle completed his secondment as part-time National Clinical Lead for General Practice in NHS Connecting for Health and became Strategic Director of PRIMIS+. He is Professor of General Practice at the University of Nottingham. He is a member of the General Medical Council and a board member of UKBiobank. Mike was Chairman of the RCGP from 1998-2001 and has recently ceased to be a partner in a rural Nottinghamshire practice. Instead he is helping to run the Collingham Healthcare Education Centre, an innovative primary care development project.

Professor Mike Pringle

Dr Dai Evans is Clinical Director of PRIMIS+ and has been a practising GP in the Peak District for 20 years. His Informatics interests include medical audit, data quality and making medical IT systems more accessible to users. He was previously involved in the Keele General Practice Research Network and the e-audit elements of the IM&T DES Data Quality Programme. Amongst other programmes he is currently involved in the QOF Pilot and Logical Record Architecture programmes.

Dr Dai Evans

Dr John Robinson is senior partner in a GP practice in Wantage, Oxfordshire, where he has practiced since 1983. He has been involved in Medical Informatics since 1990. From 1996 to 2000 he worked as a medical consultant to Meditel, later Torex, developing audit software for their GP systems. He joined PRIMIS in 2000 initially as a member of the clinical advisory group and over the last six years as a clinical advisor. He is one of the co-authors of the CHART software. He chairs the Oxfordshire Primary Healthcare IM&T Advisory group and sits on various local IT Committees as well as the iSOFT users group committee. Recently he has undertaken some clinical safety testing work for CfH.
