This session will focus on the following areas:

  • the flow of secondary care data through the NHS

  • key elements that contribute to the creation of costs of secondary care activity

  • the importance of validation of the data to ensure appropriate payments made to Trusts

  • lessons learnt by Contract and Information Shared Services Unit (CISSU) working in this environment during the last four years

How fit is your practice level data for Commissioning? This session will consider an approach to assessing data quality in your practice and across your Commissioning Organisation

Session 5

Beyond Parr: An appraisal of current & future approaches to high cost patients & frequent attenders

This session will look at some of the organisational data based approaches to assessing the above such as PARR & GP-Combined scores as well as looking at potential developments in the field

Workshop

Overcoming the barriers – planning the next steps
This session will provide an opportunity for delegates to share and discuss perceived problems and solutions related to data and information for commissioning. Delegates will be asked to submit questions or issues in advance. PRIMIS+ staff will facilitate group discussions and session speakers will be available to offer support and advice

Please note, there will also be opportunity for questions and answers during the speaker sessions
